Lena

Born and raised in the Italian Alps, I’ve been a professional in the ski industry for almost 20 years as an instructor and coach, ranging from beginner lessons to coaching at Ski World Cup events.

I come from a family of passionate skiers, my father an instructor of 50 years experience, my mother a beach lover from Australia and my brothers World Cup athletes and Olympians. Nevertheless, my path to becoming the skier and trainer I am today wasn’t a straightforwards one.

Growing up on a mountain there was little else to do but ski - I ski raced from a young age and then became an instructor as soon as I was of age. I fought against racing (I was too emotional) and wasn’t convinced about ski instructing - there was a big wide world out there and it was waiting for me. I became a traveller and tried my hand at various things - I studied journalism for a while in Argentina, I worked on Super Yachts in the Med, I worked in bars and restaurants, I met people and saw places and cultivated a love for the small details in each of my experiences. I was an adventurer first and a skier second.

But life, as it often does, steered me back on the road I was meant to follow. Thanks to certain individuals and experiences - bad and good - I discovered that skiing wasn’t just something I did, it was entirely and unconditionally everything I was. I will be forever grateful to them.
There is so much room to be who and what you want to be, when you do something you wholeheartedly love.

This ‘job’ has enabled me to achieve my goals, make lifelong friendships, travel the world and discover parts of me that I never knew existed. Now, after all of this - after having taught in many different countries and to a huge spectrum of people - my amazing co-founders and I have started The Ski Co.

We are creating our own pathway to bring our expertise and the highest level of knowledge to the sport, to our company and to our guests.

We will continue down this amazing path, hopefully with you too!
